a woman's best friend

No it’s not a credit card, it’s not a new pair of heels, it’s not a day at the spa (which I would not mind)… it’s Ali. I really think I am in puppy love with him. I grew up with 4 sisters, no pets. We had a turtle or two, but they don’t count! My first true pet (well, I am his second mother) is Ali.

Have you had a pet? If not, I suggest you get one. It doesn’t have to be a dog—it can be a cat, monkey, fish, whatever your preference. Honestly, it was the best decision Kait ever made. She called me Early June 2 years ago and told me she had a surprise for me. Little did I know it would be a BOXER PUPPY! He was so small, so lazy, and so anti-social. Ali barely moved; he literally slept every minute of the day for a good month. After that, we had him running with us, chasing us, and now we chase him. Ali was truly a blessing.

Ali has been there for me through the thick and thin. He’s showed me that genuine, unconditional love does exist. No matter how bad I played in the game, Ali is there to give me a big hug when I get home. No matter how terrible I did on the test, Ali is there. No matter how sad or homesick I get, Ali is there. No matter how late I want to sleep in, he barges in my room to remind me he needs go outside, be fed, and played with.

Having a pet has taught me a lot of responsibility. It’s perfect for new college students! :)
