You have purty teeth.

03/22/2011

So much randomness lately.

First of all, I would like everyone to know that I am not dead. I have been so incredibly busy over the past few weeks and have so much to tell you! :) Second of all, it is spring break and I could not be happier. I plan on doing absolutely nothing this entire week (apparently that also includes not taking care of myself haha). In fact, this morning I ate brownies for breakfast, my room is a mess, and I'm sitting on my bed listening to Travis Porter as I type this...

PSGA Facebook Page.

Anyway, as Marketing Chairman of Student Government Association, I am happy to tell all of you our Facebook page is up (click here). You should probably "like" our page -- that is, if you like a student organization on campus dedicated to listening to your opinions. ;) If you don't, then you are weird. We have been pretty active in Student Government lately. You have probably walked by our What's Your Issue? booth. It was a major success! For those of you who are unfamiliar, the What's Your Issue? booth is your opportunity to stop by and tell us about what you do or do not like about Indiana University East. We then take your suggestion slips and discuss them in our meetings. Our goal is to improve the school in any way we can -- and we can only do this by listening to you!

Jade and myself before heading out for St. Patrick's Day.

Also, another way students can be heard is by making an appearance at Chat with the Chancellor events. This is a great opportunity for students to get answers fast. I mean, as Student Government, we can get the answers but it may take a little while. At Chat with the Chancellor, Chancellor Paydar can answer your questions on the spot. I'd like to see more people attending these events (plus there is usually free food c'mon people).

St. Patricks Day was good. I did not get buck wild like most students do. Jade Guthrie, Andrew Britt, Jerry Richwine and myself headed to Oxford for a night of wings at Buffalo Wild Wings and shenanigans. I must say that Jade and I tuckered the boys out -- I don't think they are used to keeping up with fun girls such as ourselves.

Me with drag queen Amaya Sexton after the show. :)

As some of you know, I am in the LGBTQS Alliance and we hosted a Drag Show. The proceeds went to ASPIREindiana which is an AIDS research center in Richmond, Indiana. I must say, the turnout was absolutely AMAZING. We were a little nervous about the turnout as it was the first time something like this has been done. However, the auditorium quickly filled and people were dancing and having a great time. I was happy to see people realizing that just because something is different, it does not mean it is wrong. Special thanks to Lindsey DeCarlo, Cody Henning, Student Government Association, our drag queens, and everyone who worked hard to make the event possible.

Moving on, I am excited to tell everyone that I bought my ticket to Bonnaroo a few weeks back. :) This year, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Eminem are going to be there. I could (almost) pee my pants with excitement. Jade and I will be sleeping in a tent over the course of 3-4 days in the Tennessee heat just to see our favorite music artists. We are hoping that Lil Wayne will bring his Young Money Crew (Nicki Minaj, Drake, etc). Trust me, there will be plenty of pictures.

Lastly, Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (the organization who brought you the Nearly Naked Mile and Ghost Hunt at IU East) has quite the surprise for students. I am excited to announce that on April 21st at 4pm, STAT is hosting...

JK. You can't know yet. VIDEO SOON. :) [Hint: We just might be giving away billybob teeth at this event]
