Welcome to Education
Welcome to the Indiana University East School of Education.
The education of our children and youth is the most important work that we can do. The challenges are many as the pace of change, the need for excellence, and the ever emerging new knowledge regarding how children learn means that we are constantly seeking and integrating best practices in education.
We are committed to preparing beginning teachers for 21st century teaching and learning. Towards this end, our School of Education, in partnership with the larger educational community, prepares teachers who know what it means to be reflective scholars, instructional leaders and global citizens.
We invite you to be a part of our journey. As a School of Education student, you will benefit from extensive field experiences, including pre-student teaching and student teaching. Upon graduation, you will have access to our Beginning Teacher Mentor Program whose sole purpose is to provide support to first and second year teachers.
If you have any questions about our programs please feel free to contact me or to stop by my office.
