I have to admit that I feel a little embarrassed to tell you what I’m reading. I know that I should be focusing on “academic” tomes that would enrich my mind, soul and spirit. But let’s be honest. During the summer I want to read all the “guilty pleasure books” I can get my sweaty hands on. My problem is that I rarely have time to just sit and read. Since our kids are grown, I’m not sitting in the car waiting for their music lessons, ball games, dental appointments, etc. to end. Those sure were the good old days!
Now, I’m listening to audio-books on my way to and from work. That comes to about 1.5 hours every day – not as much time as I’d like, but I’ll take what I can get. I’m a late-bloomer and just recently “read” the entire Harry Potter series as well as The Twilight series. Yes, we have both of those sets in the library, and they’re GREAT! This week, I listened to a new Jennifer Weiner audio book, “Best Friends Forever.” It was funny and romantic and made me feel good all over.
So, regardless of what you’re reading this summer be certain that it’s something you really enjoy. Time is too short to slog through a book that can wait until class begins in the fall! (Just my opinion, of course!)
