The Final Push

Welcome back! Did you all have a wonderful and safe vacation? I sure did, but now it’s time to get serious and get back to the books!

This semester is bittersweet for me because this is my LAST semester as a Red Wolf. Every day I get closer and closer to becoming an IUE Alumnus. However, this semester is going to be the most challenging for me as far as classes are concerned. All of my classes are upper level classes (as should they be), and one class is my senior seminar for BSS. This class requires me to complete a minimum 25 page paper, a group presentation; and a solo presentation infront of the class, instructors, and invited BSS faculty and guests.  And all papers and projects combine all of the information that I have learned from my BSS classes over the past 3 years. I’ve been told by previous students that this is the most fun class of the entire program. So, I’m just going to pace myself and not procrastinate with my work in this class or my other classes!

On the other side of this semester lies the “real world.” I’ve already begun the process of writing my resume and searching for jobs. But wait…wasn’t I going to graduate school? The answer is no. Not right now. I am so burnt out on school that I need a break from the academia lifestyle. I need a job that when I leave the office and come home, I know that I do not have 4-5 hours of homework lying ahead of me. I’m not too sure where I will end up, but I’m sure that I will find a good fit for me.

On a funny note, if you have been following American Idol this season there’s a good possibility that you saw the Atlanta, GA, auditions last week. If you did, you witnessed “Pants On The Ground.” If you didn’t catch it, here it is for you’re viewing pleasure! I love this song! It says what the majority of America has been saying since I was in 7th grade (2000).

Hey Red Wolves!
Did you enjoy Homecoming? I know that I sure enjoyed myself! I didn’t get to all of the activities last week, but the ones I did go to were a blast! I’m having difficulty loading my videos and pictures onto my computer, so when I get them loaded, I’ll make sure to post [...]

The Price is RIGHT!

Happy Thursday Night!
Today was a special day for the Admissions staff & the Ambassadors. We welcomed about 60 guidance counselors from area high schools to participate in IU East’s annual Counselor’s Appreciation Breakfast. During this special event, counselors are treated to a great breakfast, and they are handed scholarship money for their seniors. However, today [...]

Update from my part of campus

Hey gang!
These past couple of weeks have been terrible for me.  After I got home from the cruise, my dog Peyton hurt his back leg. I took him to the vet, and the vet said that he tore his ACL and would need surgery to fix his leg. That really got to me because Peyton [...]

I tell you what, I am so swamped with work right now, and I just can’t seem to get it all done! What’s worse is that I am totally loosing my focus. I know what needs to be done and how to get it done, but I’m not getting that focus that I need. On Saturday [...]

Change is Coming

Hey Red Wolves!
I apologize for not blogging in a week! It’s been crazy busy in my life. So…here it goes!
First off, I have made a major life decision. I have recently became vegetarian which means no meat, dairy, or egg products. I decided to change my lifestyle for the animals. After watching “Meet Your Meat” [...]

WHAT!?!?!

Did you hear? IUE enrollment is up by 20%! Do you know what that means? We have close to 3,000 students on campus! No wonder I have a hard time trying to find a parking spot!
I think that our enrollment increase is incredible! It’s so great to see so many people choosing IUE for their [...]

Working Hard & Playing Hard

Hello friends!
How was your second week of school? Are you getting adjusted to your school schedule? I’m actually having a little difficulty getting back into my groove.
