I know this sounds like a Pinterest board, because it is... Don’t go find me on Pinterest or anything, but this is the name of my quotes board! “Why do you have a quotes board and why are you telling me about it?” Oh great questions! I have a quotes board because I feel as though we all should live by some random quote we find in life. Like Dory said,”just keep swimming”
I believe that there is a quote out there for everybody, so I have a whole Pinterest board filled with quotes I love. Why am I telling you about this? I have been asked recently about my favorite quote a lot, and it has been floating around in my head. So what exactly is my favorite quote? Well let me tell you about it!
I think it all started when I got broken up with by a boy I was crazy about, of course that’s how it starts… Anyways I became obsessed with sad music afterwards and got hooked onto a specific singer. So in my blue mood I would listen to his songs, and then his new album came out and I listened to it on repeat for like two months… Wow that's embarrassing to admit.
However I soon found myself out of the blue days and back to my peachy self, although I still listened to this singer. It was one day I was on a date (SHOCKING!!!) and I heard this song I didn’t recognize on this singers album. Curious as to what song it was, but not wanting to freak out the kid I was with since I was driving and driving and googling is frowned upon, I waited till I got home to figure out this song. You best believe I looked through every one of these singers songs till I finally found it!
Listening to the song I heard what I was waiting (all like two minutes into the song) for, my new favorite quote! Before I found this quote I had many favorite quotes, ranging from Franz Kafka, to Edgar Allen Poe, to Ernest Hemingway, so I never truly felt like a quote fit me.
I’d put whatever quote Pinterest threw at me on my mirror to look at it every day as my friendly reminder, even if the quote meant nothing to me. So when I found this quote it was like a little missing piece of me was found!
So I’m sure you’re wondering what this quote that changed my life is, and really is kind of hard to get, however I love it. “Success is nothing if you have no one there left to share it with”. Weird, I know, but I heard it and knew it fit me. I have a problem of pushing people out of my life, big surprise, so when I heard it I felt as though it was my reminder to keep people around because you’re truly not successful if you’re alone. Also it reminds me to not be so cold-hearted like I am, and actually open my tiny black hole of a heart.
This quote now rests on my mirror along with one other place you’d have to ask about. I see it every morning and remind myself to keep the positive people in my life while eliminating the negative ones. Easier said than done.
So what do you do if you have a great quote you just love? Put it on a sticky note and stick it to your computer. Put it on your Pinterest board! Write on your mirror! Put this quote somewhere where you can see it daily, and make sure this quote means something to you! If you pick a quote like, “Bosses don’t brag. Gangsta’s don’t advertise. Carry on” then maybe pick a new quote, and “No Ragrets” isn't a good one either. Find a quote and love the goodness out of it, it can take you far!
