Hibernation

11/26/2014

Sorry for the moment of absence. You see, my semester has become quiet hectic as it comes to a close so it has taken me a while to post again. I have basically been hibernating in my house with Snickers working on school work. Anyway, here is what I have been up to. I have recently finished up my classroom experience in Kindergarten. I miss those kiddos! I am going to attempt to go back into the room at least one more day before I start student teaching to visit. Which brings me to student teaching! I have finally made it! I will be starting my student teaching in 2nd grade as soon as Christmas break ends. I have never been in 2nd grade so I am super excited for this experience and to be that much closer to graduation! Which is as of now, 170 days away, but who is counting right? I have the countdown app on my phone I did not literally count all of those days.  Lately, all if not most of my time has been spent working on my portfolio. For those who are education majors brace yourself for your portfolio your senior year. It is a lot of organizing, editing, and writing about yourself as an educator so far. To sum it up, my portfolio includes eight lesson plans and reflections of those lessons plans with student work. Three pieces of professional development I have done. A video of me teaching as well as a reflection of that teaching. Which may not sound like a lot, but just trust me is it I just hit the highlights. But, I have just added my final lesson this morning! December 1st I will turn it in and my semester will be basically over! I am ready to have a few weeks off to enjoy spending time with my family and celebrate Christmas.
