PREGNANT!..with food babies.

Table's Set! SO- how was everyone's Thanksgiving? My family and I had a very wonderful, low-key Thanksgiving this year and I wouldn't have changed a thing! It was just me, my sister and my mom and dad and we all enjoyed a delicious, homemade Thanksgiving dinner! We had turkey, my Dad's most delicious homemade mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, HOMEMADE potato rolls and HOMEMADE multigrain bread, sauteed green beans and fruit salad, HOMEMADE sugar cream pie and ice cream for dessert! It was sooo yummy! After eating way too much, we watched Brave, the newest Disney princess movie. It was cute. Was it on the Little Mermaid/Lion King/Aladdin level? NO. But I enjoyed it (when I wasn't dozing off from all of the carbs I had just consumed).

The next morning we went and cut down our Christmas tree (it's a Griswald/Meyer family tradition) and because I knew I would need my strength for the inevitable long trek in search of the perfect tree, I made pancakes for breakfast-obviously? Because I hadn't had enough carbs the previous meal. BUT- these pancakes. You know how Grandmas practically HAVE to be good cooks? Like, it's a prerequisite they have to have in order to graduate Grandma school and earn the title? And almost every grandma has their signature? Well, my Grandma would make THE BEST pancakes for me growing up. She literally FRIES them and they have the most delicious crispy border. SO. GOOD. Now that I can reach the stove top and make pancakes of my own, I always aim to make them as good as my Grandma (one time when I was 13 I melted a spatula trying to make my Grandma's pancakes- it was devastating). I was successful on Friday (thank you Jesus) and built-up enough strength to help choose the perfect Christmas tree. SCORE! HEEEAVEN Is it not torture waiting for those stupid bubbles to form so you can flip it? THEN EAT IT?! Now that Thanksgiving is over and I'm back to eating like a normal, healthy person, I can only wait for Christmas where I will be sure to conceive just as many food/pancake babies. SO. EXCITED. Have a great Monday! xx Kels
