In Desperate Need of Vitamin M (motivation).

Goofing off with Alyssa Tegeler. Suffering from senioritis.

"This is my last year and I keep having to remind myself to "snap out of it and just do it." I am battling senioritis; but more importantly, I am battling the excitement of finally getting out on my own and experiencing what the world has to offer."

Okay, wow, this semester is totally different than the previous ones.

I am not going to lie, I am having an incredibly difficult time transitioning from the "go-go-go" lifestyle to a more laid-back lifestyle. During the past couple of years, I have been taking five or six classes a semester, working, and participating in various student organizations. This time last fall was full of planning and preparation for many upcoming events; not to mention, I was  running for Homecoming Queen.

Reggae concert at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati.

Now, I go to school twice a week (although my Wednesdays are incredibly long) and I am only taking four classes. I work the remaining days of the week and have weekends off. Although it may not seem like it, this has been a hard transition. My summer was amazing and so busy. I am still in "work every day and party every night" mode.

I cannot forget to mention that I am not exactly proficient in the areas of science and math. I am taking Biology and Neuroscience this semester -- and that has definitely taken some getting used to.

This is extremely surprising to me that I would be feeling more stressed with less to do. Life is funny like that, though. I feel like when I have more pressures placed on me, I perform better. It seems if you have a little wiggle room, it is harder to get moving. I realize the ladder is definitely healthier for me; however, it's just difficult to get back into the swing of everything.

This is my last year and I keep having to remind myself to "snap out of it and just do it." I am battling senioritis; but more importantly, I am battling the excitement of finally getting out on my own and experiencing what the world has to offer. My experiences from school and my internships have given me insight to what I want out of life. As corny as it sounds, I'm ready to spread my wings and fly away.

Toro y Moi. So close to him!

Outside of complaining (haha), I have been making time for friends and fun. I recently went to a concert in Bloomington, Indiana with my friend Jeremy. We saw a guy by the name of Toro y Moi (I realize many of you probably have no idea who I am talking about). He is really talented, though. I definitely recommend checking out his music. I was as close to the stage as someone could be (my hand was actually resting on one of the speakers). When he came out, he set up his keyboard directly in front of me. It was an amazing night and completely worth the $13 I spent for my ticket haha. Not bad, right? I realized at Bonnaroo that the smaller shows are usually a lot better than the larger ones.

Me with my IU mom, Terry Wiesehan Director of Alumni Relations at IU East before a Reds game. Great night! :)

Also, I recently went back to Cincinnati to get pictures taken with the Mayor. I am excited to say that my internship story will be in the new issue of our alumni magazine, Radius -- so check it out and let me know what you think. :) It was great seeing everyone at City Hall. I told the Mayor I could not thank him enough for my amazing summer and how much experience I have gained. The whole thing is still hard for me to grasp -- I miss it every single day and wish I could be back.

Other parts of my week are consumed with going out with my friends for buffalo wings. I really wish I could live off of chicken wings (and actually be healthy).

I'm also extremely excited that Halloween is quickly approaching. I have been dabbling in some Halloween activities. I recently went to a haunted trail and this past weekend I went to Crazy Acres which is a haunted corn maze. Next on the list is carving pumpkins.

Tha-tha-that's all folks!
