Alumni Spotlight: Kacie Beckham

Kacie Beckham

Even though Kacie Beckham thought about a career in nursing as a high school freshman, it wasn’t until her Indiana University East community clinicals in Washington, D.C., and New York City that she had an “aha” moment and realized this was the career for her. Kacie learned that she loved being able to work in the community providing health education and preventative care to those who needed it the most.

What has she learned along the way?

“No day is ever the same. I am continuously learning and growing as a nurse. There are so many opportunities in this field, and I’m excited to be able to take advantage of them,” Kacie stated. “Before considering nursing I thought about being in the fashion industry, but nursing has given me multiple opportunities for change — within my own career as well as making a change for others.”
